Abstract
The author analyses an asterism identified by the Toba of western Formosa (Argentina) and the symbolism associated with it. Specifically, the article concerns Qolá, the celestial formation that forms the western constellation Corona Austral as well as certain stars that belong to the constellation of Sagittarius. The word Qolá also refers to a type of necklace worn by Toba leaders that – together with other insignias – represents their social rank and emblazons their prestige.
