On the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of the Divine Word (Steyler) Missionaries (1875–2025)

In 1875, Arnold Janssen founded the Society of the Divine Word (SVD), a missionary order which, alongside philosophical and theological education, also fosters an interest in positive sciences, particularly in the study of non-European cultures. The ethnological journal Anthropos (1906) and the sinological journal Monumenta Serica (1935) emerged from this tradition of the SVD.
This volume contains a selection of articles published in these journals over the last 100 years, which the editors consider to be the most representative of one of the SVD current organisational objectives, namely intercultural and interreligious dialogue in a globalised world.
