Qianheng Zhao

Born in 1977 in Jilin, V. R. China. She studied English and Education at Pedagogical College in Changchun, V. R. China, where she received a bachelor’s degree in 1998. She also studied English and Education at Northeastern Pedagogical University in Changchun, V. R. China (1998 – 2001). She holds MA in Theology from Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule SVD, St. Augustin (2007). Between 2008 and 2013, she was a PhD candidate in Anthropology. Subsequently, she joined the research program at the “Haus Völker und Kulturen" Museum in Sankt Augustin, Germany, and was then hired by Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule SVD, St. Augustin as a teaching assistant (2012). Later, in 2013, she obtained a position at the Anthropos Institute. In 2023, she joined the editorial team of the journal Anthropos. She is also a freelance translator and interpreter: on behalf of Dr. Barbara Schlock - Werner of the Dombauhütte, she has been working on translation from German to Chinese of a picture guide to the treasure chamber of the Cologne Cathedral, as well as – in cooperation with Harald Schlüter, of a guide for Chinese-speaking tourists visiting the cathedral. She is also involved in organization of cultural events, such as “Who Will be a Missionary?”, held at the University of Bonn, Germany.
